Univision SW FL 2/51 was established in 2005 by Equity Broadcasting. It is now is 1 of 4 stations of Silverpoint Television,  delivering Univision Network programming with local content of Southwest Florida.

Located in Fort Myers, off College Parkway, the local office has news, programming and production capabilities with a sales staff to serve the needs of Southwest Florida advertisers and its communities.

In 2010, Univision SW FL 2/51 converted digitally and now serves thru all cable and satellite channels in all 5 counties of Lee, Charlotte, Henry, Glades & Collier counties.

Today, Univision SW FL is delivering all of the Hispanic population the best of news and entertainment that day in and day out enjoy with family and friends. Each year Univision SW FL 2/51 collaborates with local advertisers and organizations to create grass roots events which enriches the culture and its diversity of SW FL.

Christina Collins

Vice President - SP Television, LLC.

General Manager - WUVF UnivisionSW Florida

 

Christina Collins joined Univision SW Florida as General Manager in June 2010.  She currently serves on the board of directors for the SW Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, is a member of the Horizon Council, Team Lee County, for the Fort Myers Regional Partnership, and as a member of the Hispanic Institute at Hodges University.  She learned the importance of language in 1990 during a five week broadcasting assignment in Las Delicias, Honduras.  After her four year army term, she studied Spanish and Management in college while continuing to work in the broadcasting field.  Before moving to Fort Myers, Christina was director of sales for an NBC and Fox television combo in Indiana.  She has a 20-year-old son and loves living in beautiful SW Florida!

Jackie Figueroa

News Director

 

Jacqueline Figueroa was born in Palma Soriano, Santiago de Cuba. She immigrated to the United States with her parents and brother at the age of sixteen. On March 2006, Jackie joined WUVF Univision as a News Reporter and Community Affairs Coordinator. On June 2007 she started hosting Acción Hispana, the most watched local television program in Spanish in Southwest Florida.

Jackie is the vice president of the SW Florida Chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, active member of the Board of Directors of Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers and member of the Hodges University's Hispanic Institute.

On September 13th, 2011, the residents of Lee County, Florida, honored Jackie at their commission meeting for “her hard work, journalistic accomplishments, and outstanding commitment to the people of Lee County and Southwest Florida.”

Jose Fernandez

Production Manager

 

Jose Fernandez joined Univision SW Florida as Production Manager in March 2006. An award-winning producer, shooter and editor, Jose's work has been broadcasted in large markets at the local level as well as the five major broadcast networks in the US.

A native of Maracaibo, Venezuela, Jose has called SW Florida his home for over 20 years.

Michel Sardiña

Production Assistant

 

Michel joined Univision in  October 2010. He was born and raised in Havana, Cuba where he went to school for Economy. Later, Michel moved to Puerto Rico and continued to get his degree in Business Administration. After moving to Florida, he discovered his true passion: motion graphics and video production and editing.

 

Michel continues to work hard to provide quality content for SW Florida hispanic viewers.

Brenda Cestero

Traffic Manager

 

Brenda Cestero, is the Traffic manager for WUVF Ft Myers since FEB 2007. She was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She attended St Petersburg College in Clearwater, Florida where she got her degree in Mass Communications and Journalism. Has worked in the advertising business for over  20 years where she has learned many aspects of the TV industry.  From her first Job at WCLF followed by WTVT- FOX13 and WVEA-Univision, Brenda knew that television was and continue to be her passion.

Ricky Angel

Account Executive

 

Ricardo “Ricky” Angel has been part of the Univision Southwest Florida family since August of 2010.

He brought with him a profound commitment to excellence in customer satisfaction and extensive business to business sales experience.

His mission  here at Univision is to help Southwest Florida businesses grow by reaching out to the Hispanic demographic because as a native of Colombia having grown up in The United States, he understands how valuable this fast growing segment of the local population can be for a local business owner.

Vanessa Ortiz-Cardona

Senior Account Executive

 

Vanessa Ortiz Cardona Initiated the sales team at Univision SW FL 2/51 in 2005.  She brought sales experience from Gannett Corporation and skills from the college of Journalism at the University of Florida where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Minor in Spanish, and a Marketing Communications Diploma in ‘02.  Her leadership skills have been implemented since early on thru 2 year AmeriCorps (Okeechobee), 2  year President of International Club (Okeechobee), 2 year President and Founder of MASA Chapter (Gainesville), 2 year SW FL ADDY Chair and head spearing local community projects of Univision SW FL.

As Senior Account Executive of Univision SW FL her career experiences have been in customer service, media planning, creative, business plans and marketing. She enjoys building business relationships and helping advertisers grow their businesses.

She was born in Pharr, Texas. Today resides with husband & 3 children in Cape Coral, FL.

Rosalinda Gamez

Account Executive

 

Rosalinda joined the Univision family in March 2011 as an Account Executive consulting and helping prospective businesses realize the importance of television in an effective marketing plan. She attended Florida Gulf Coast University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management in 2008.  Rosalinda was raised in an entrepreneurial family, and prior to Univision, she found herself managing a dozen employees in one of the newly developed family businesses where she put her skills to good use. She has been involved in all aspects of small business from a young age and as a result has significant business knowledge and experience that she eagerly shares with her growing clientele.

Ymara Rodriguez

Ymara Rodriguez is native from Barquisimeto,Venezuela. She graduated from Marion Technical College in Marion, Ohio with a degree in Business Management and Specialization in Marketing retailing concentration.

Ymara joined Univision in March 2011 with over 20 years of experience of sales and building professional relationship.
